Youth Mentoring Services
Youth Mentoring Services are available in various schools at lunch hour or after school, aiming to provide support in learning school subjects, building and practicing social skills and promoting positive self-esteem. These FREE services include or combine:
- Academic tutoring
- Recreational activities and snacks
- Social support
- Spring camps, summer camps and winter camps
- Field trips and group social activities

Location List
For the winter term of School Year 2014-2015, Youth Mentoring Services are available in the below schools:
- Balwin School
- Belvedere Elementary School
- Edith Rogers Junior High School
- Glengarry Elementary School
- Grace Martin School
- M.E. LaZerte High School
- St. Catherine Catholic Elementary/Junior High School
During 2014-2015 school year, we also provide FREE drop-in academic tutoring every Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at EISA office (Suite 201, 10720 113 Street).
Who Can Register:
Funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), Youth Mentoring Services are for permanent residents aged from 8 to 19. Permanent residents are legal residents in Canada with Permanent Resident Card, Confirmation of Permanent Residence or Landing Paper.
- For lunch-hour or after-school services, registrants have to be students of the schools in the above location list.
- For academic tutoring services on Saturday afternoons, any permanent resident student in Junior or Senior High Schools in Edmonton is welcome to drop in.
How to Register:
- Registration usually starts at the first week of each semester
- If the registrant is younger than 16 years old, the parent/guardian needs to complete the registration form of Youth Mentoring Services
- If the registrant is of the age of 16 or older, the registrant needs to complete the registration form of Youth Mentoring Services
- Registration forms are available at school general office and at EISA office
- Permanent Resident Card, Confirmation of Permanent Residence or Landing Paper is required for the first registration or on the first day of accessing the services
Fees:
Youth Mentoring Services are FREE of charge. However, a small fee may apply for SOME field trips or group social activities.
