Youth Programs
Bridge-2-Success Program For Newcomer Students
EISA’s Children and Youth Programs are always exciting places to be. Young newcomers have the opportunity to meet with caring and diverse mentors to develop skills and have fun.
Tutoring and Mentorship Program
The Tutoring and Mentorship Program runs in various junior high and elementary schools. The program provides support in learning school subjects, building and practicing social skills and promoting positive self esteem.
Program Activities include:
- Academic and social support
- Recreational activities
- Mentorship by volunteers and staff who share information with newcomer students about life in Canada, and share stories, hopes and dreams.
Program activities are designed to assist newcomer students in the integration process within school and society. Each week, students meet after school with program staff and volunteers. Together we learn, build skills and have fun.
Program Activities for Youth focus on:
- Leadership and life-skills
- Future school and career planning
- Community awareness and engagement.
As students become more fluent in English and build their social abilities, leadership qualities begin to emerge and students share their success with their families and others in their schools and communities.
Summer Camps
Our Summer Camps provide activities for learning and fun during the hot summer weeks. Camp activities include exciting recreational activities, arts & crafts, field trips, as well as fun and educational activities.
We also offer support to parents to enhance their understanding of the school system as well as their involvement in their children’s education.
