The Edmonton Immigrant Services Association is recruiting a Human Resources/Administration Coordinator for a full-time position. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role will oversee the human resource and administration functions of the agency.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Development of a Human Resource Information Management system.
  • Administration of human resource policies, procedures and programs.
  • Responsible for the accurate and prompt management of time records from entry to approval.
  • Assist with the recruitment, hiring and termination processes.
  • Coordination of an employee professional development program and a performance management system.
  • Provide support for agency-wide organizational development and change management.
  • Respond to employee requests and inquiries.
  • Support and evaluate the administration of compensation and benefits.
  • Participation in agency-wide committees including the Leadership Team and the HR Committee.
  • Oversee third party services and contracts.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Superior human resource management, organizational, and administrative skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think, act, and speak strategically.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to accurately and professionally respond to internal HR inquiries.
  • Knowledge and understanding of a client-oriented, intercultural workplace would be an asset.
  • Possess a solid understanding of both federal and provincial labour legislation.
  • Ability to create professional documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and safeguard confidential information.

Required Education and Experience:

  • College diploma or university degree in business or human resources;
  • CHRP designation an asset.
  • Experience in a not-for-profit environment.
  • A minimum of three to five years of relevant and related work experience.
  • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organizational development, employee relation, safety, training, and preventive labor relations.
